Welcome to inVision Essential Oils page. Over the past few years Essential oils have become more popular as more people are starting to take control of their health by going back to natural products by either making their own creams or looking for products with clean ingredients.
If you are visiting this site either you already have your own Essential Oil story along with testimonial of how it affects your well being, or you are in the beginning stages benefits Essential Oils have. might be just starting to learn about Essential oils and found this site.
From the time you first purchase EO and learning something new everyday is always continuous, experience stories get longer. Some go to Aromatherapy school and others school is life experience. For each person the effect of EO is different. Schools, Books and google might give us health, history safety, recipe information but considering each one of us comes from different environment the experience will be different. The best way of learning is 1st knowing the safety of EO and then trying each and educational From using it in beauty products, cleaning products to diffusing EO throughout the house have become my go-to products using on everyday bases at home and at work. What started off as a curious shopping experience to Lotions and Potions purchasing my very 1st essential oil, Spearmint, opened the doors to the next level of awareness to everyday products from creams to cleaning poructs.
Of course this did not happen over night but the seed was planted and my journey began. Little by little I started moving away from products that contain harmful ingredients. Finding sites like EWG/Environmental Working Group, looking up specific product and finding one that contains clean ingredients and that is now available in an app where you can scan any product at the store from soaps, shampoos, creams, etc.
In addition, in my massage therapy business because I am the one who gets exposed on daily bases to lotions and fragrance my priority became to make sure to use clean products that would be healthy for me and then I can pass down the health benefits to my clients. Not all lotions or essential oils are the same. Even though some have amazing aroma but when you start to understand the difference between Fragrance vs Essential Oils or look at the ingredient list it becomes a different story. Also taking into consideration that many people in today's time have a long list of allergies so I wanted to make sure the oils I use are organic and therapeutic in nature. This is when I would say, less is more.
Coconut oil became my base as it is anti-microbial and anti-fungal oil that I buy in a food section. Yes as the saying goes, if it's safe to eat it's safe to go on the skin. After all skin is the largest organ of our body and with so many harmful chemicals around that we are exposed to, we can be conscious of things that are in our control and choose wisely on healthy alternative.
As for the Essential oils I started with Spearmint and Peppermint. I don't recall the brands but knowing nothing about EO I just went with what smelled good. Not to long after a friend of mine introduced me to Young Living EO and shared her experience of having a Raindrop Therapy done. With her testimonial of how good she felt after I wanted to learn more about this therapy. Not long after I did a training caurse and now offer it to my clients. This also where I started learning more about the importance of good quality oils and using it safely.
Since then little by little I went from using store bought creams that contain synthetic fragrance and harmful ingredients to making my own. From spraying the house with air-fresheners and using plug-ins that are hazardous to your health and instead using diffusers that actually help
As my journey continued, I am glad that I was introduced to Young living as I learned a lot on how to use Essential Oils safely. In addition seeing that even some of the best companies that have therapeutic grade EO, each person reacts to the oils differently. So if you are starting on your own Journey of discovering the health benefits of these oils, it is always better to go slow building your knowledge base of which oil will work best for you.
Over the years besides Young Living there were many companies I tried. Although nothing went to waste as some oils where great and some I ended up using for cleaning. But over all at this point in time I stick to 3 companies that have great reputation and good quality. These are Young Living, The Ananda Apothecary and Plant Therapy.
Considering there are layers and layers of information to learn. Please do your own research in addition to what you read on this site. This is just basic information that I have gathered through my own journey using essential oils.
The links bellow is a list of information about each company and their process of testing for purity and quality of Essential Oils.

What are essential oils?
Sometimes called the "life force" of a plant, therapeutic grade essential oils are very complex. They are stored in special cells, ducts or glandular hairs that are distributed among the flowers, leaves, bark, stems and roots of a plant. These oils protect the plant from insects and other herbivores, from bacteria, molds, fungi and other micro-organisms. They also help to heal inflicted wounds. These unique characteristics make essential oils highly beneficial to humans. A single oil may contain hundreds of constituents that are molecularly aligned in exactly the right manner to trigger a number of responses in the human body.
What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. It seeks to unify physiological, psychological and spiritual processes to enhance an individual’s innate healing process.

Historical Use of Essential Oils
Essential oils have been used since early-recorded history to support health and wellness. The ancient Egyptians used many oils as medicine, and their recipes are recorded in the hieroglyphics. There are 188 references to the use of essential oils in the Bible. Today, essential oils are considered by many to be the leading edge of natural medicine.
In 1817 the 870-foot-long Ebers Papyrus was discovered. Dating back to 1500 B.C., it was called a medicinal scroll. It mentioned over 800 herbal prescriptions and remedies. Other scrolls indicate that the Egyptians had a high success rate in treating as many as 81 different diseases. Many mixtures they used contained myrrh oil and honey. Myrrh was used for embalming because of its effectiveness in preventing bacterial growth.
Egyptians and Babylonians believed that, in order to reach a higher spirituality, they had to be clean and beautiful. They practiced fumigation to disperse oils, purify the air, and provide protection from evil spirits. They used the oils for medicinal purposes long before the individual herbs were studied for medical use.
The Romans fumigated and diffused oils in their temples and political buildings and scented their baths with oils followed by a fragrant oil massage.
The ancient Arabian people began to study the chemical properties of essential oils. They developed and refined the distillation process. They extracted rose oil and rose water, which were very popular in the Middle East at that time. Kings would barter and buy land, gold, and slaves with their crudely extracted oils. The oils were more valuable than gold.
Europeans did not produce essential oils until the 12th century. During the Medieval plague of the 15th century, four thieves in Marseilles, France, were able to rob the dead and dying without becoming infected. When finally captured, the men reportedly admitted to creating a concoction that contained 50 cloves and the herb rosemary, along with other aromatics. They rubbed this potion on their hands, ears, and temples. The secret of the thieves was made public and the formula was posted in the city.
During the Dark Ages and after the burning of libraries in Alexandria and other places, much of this knowledge of essential oils and their uses was lost. Only through the cosmetic and perfume industry did the valuable science of aromatherapy begin to resurface.
